The Tezzy Files - A Foodie and Fashionista

As we had another managed blog event organized by Monica Kapila aka DoinDubai.Com, once again I've met amazing food bloggers in Dubai dominated by women, one of them is Tehzeeb.  It was a great pleasure to learn more about her and how she finally commence her blogging endeavor.

Tell me how you first got involved with blogging?
I started blogging out of a sheer love for the written word. Blogging is a piece of me-time, so starkly different from my daytime corporate role, and hectic schedule as a mummy. My idea was to create an online magazine so to speak, and Beauty, Fashion and Food have always been my key interests (although Food is currently taking center stage!)

What do you find most challenging about blogging?
I would say the most challenging part of being a blogger is time management. This is especially true when you have other commitments on hand like a full-time job, and parenting a young child. I believe it is very important to keep a schedule, and sort out your priorities for the day before the hours slip by.

What’s the most rewarding thing to happen since you started blogging?
Meeting interesting people... like you! (She means me) Blogging has opened up a whole new world of wonderful people in my life, be it fellow bloggers, celebrity chefs and fashion designers, and even everyday people who have amazing stories and tips to share.

What are your strongest beliefs about being a woman?
In today's world, women are forced into the 'Super Woman' mold. We are expected to ace at our careers, keep an immaculate home, raise wonderful little humans. Although many of us do great at most spheres of our lives, I think it is important to sometimes sit back and take note of priorities. Women are far more emotional creatures than men, and our worst enemies are our very own inner demons telling us we are just not good enough. I believe a strong woman does not shy away from asking for help, is humble enough to step in for her girlfriends, and paves her own path to success (whatever her personal goal might be)

What’s your personal philosophy?
To always make time for doing what I love to do. Failing to do so, I would have never turned to blogging.

Tell me who is role model?
This is a tough one! There are so many amazing personalities out there, and so much to learn from each. As a food blogger, I would have to say Nigella Lawson. Maybe its her bold, sultry voice, her stunning beauty, her enviable talent at making cooking look so stylish. Above all, I salute her for her humbling grace when she got all that media slack for a very public row she had with ex-husband Charles Saatchi.

What might (someone) be surprised to know about you?
That I am Kiwi! My genetically Indian features coupled with a very Arabesque name gets people very confused :-) I think most of us are like this now... the question 'where are you from?' can get a little complicated!

How would (someone) describe you?
Acquaintances might label me as being shy, and I can be. But in all reality, I'm quirky crazy - just ask my friends!

If you were a food, what would you be and why?
A jar of Nutella! Simple packaging but sweetly addictive :-)

What can you advise for young millennials on pursuing their passion?
Ask yourself how badly you want it. If you are sure this is what you want out of life, do your homework - read up on how to get there, talk to people who have. Do everything in your power to make it happen!
